Patchology PoshPeel & SmartMud

All copy

Recently I’ve been trying all different types of face masks. You can check out my Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery PowerFoil Mask post here or my Dermovia Lace Your Face review here. Today I’ll once again be talking about masks. This time however not only for the face but also for the feet. Patchology creates tons of different masks two of them being the PoshPeel foot mask and the SmartMud face mask which I tested for you guys.

Feet copyThe PoshPeel Pedi Cure foot mask is meant to dissolve dead skin, exfoliate rough patches and brighten the feet. The active ingredients in PoshPeel are an Advanced AHA + BHA Botanical Blend to exfoliate and botanical extracts for the brightening. The application is quite simple. All you need to do is pour the Activating Essence into the Foot Masque Socks, place your feet inside them and seal the socks. After 60-90 minutes you can remove the socks and thoroughly rinse and dry the feet. Progressive peeling action should take place over 3-7 days.

My biggest fear trying these socks was that they wouldn’t be completely waterproof and that the Activating Essence would leak out. My fears however were completely footless (see what I did there 🙂 ) as they were sealed well and I was able to walk around during the 60 minutes. I did have a slight tingling sensation from the Essence but it bothered me in no way. The only problem I encountered while wearing the foot mask was that it dissolved the top layer of my nail polish… It didn’t strip it completely but it did make them look matte and rough. I’d highly recommend that you paint your toenails after you’ve finished with the foot mask!

After rinsing the Essence off I was very interested in seeing what my feet would look and feel like. It definitely didn’t wow me because they still felt quite rough. I must say though that I did notice that some skin had been exfoliated. As it says in the instruction after a few days the skin got smoother as the peeling progressed.

As a long term treatment I think this is a great foot mask and your feet will thank you. If you are looking for a quick fix before a night out, a day on the beach or a hot date I’d suggest you use another way to get those feet all smooth and shiny.

Mask

Literally five minutes ago I tried the SmartMud No Mess Masques and OMG my skin feels amazing! But before I go all dewy-eyed on you I’ll give you the facts about the mask. Usually mud masks are a huge mess but not with SmartMud because it is combined with a classic sheet mask. The mud eliminates environmental toxins, dirt and dullness with the active ingredient being mineral-rich volcanic ash. This mask is ideal for normal, combination and oily skin. You can use the mask once a week or as often as needed. It has one section for the upper portion of your face and one for the lower. Applying is real simple as with most sheet masks. You should leave SmartMud on the face for at least 10 minutes. Afterwards all you need to do is remove it and rinse with warm water.

Most masks that I’ve tried drip while I’m wearing them but that certainly didn’t happen with SmartMud. It actually felt really nice and wasn’t drying at all. After I washed the residue off my complexion looked amazing. My pores were clean and visibly smaller and I was left with a healthy glow. I think I’ve just found my new favourite face mask!

Have you tried any Patchology products?
