Recently I’ve been into the natural makeup look. In Spring and Summer I prefer a light makeup as it saves valuable time that can be spent in the sunlight and it feels a lot lighter on the skin which is especially important when it’s super hot outside. Today’s look features a new brand I recently discovered called Lily Lolo. This brand has a wonderful range of cruelty-free products that are also free from nano particles, bismuth oxychloride, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals and parabens. I think it’s so important that we are aware of what we put on our skin and that the products won’t harm us in the short and long run.
Besides the Lily Lolo products I also used Deborah Milano’s Contouring Stick and a Mascara and Brow Pencil from Estée Lauder which I will talk about in more detail later. As the sun is making an appearance more and more often these days it’s vital to start with a sunscreen base. After making sure my skin is properly protected I did a light contouring with the Secrets of Contouring Duo Contour & Highlight Stick from Deborah Milano. I applied the contour in the hollows of my cheeks and on the sides of my nose. The highlight I used on the bridge of my nose and the top of my cheekbones. After blending the product into my skin I used the Estée Lauder The Brow Multi-Tasker in the shade 03 Brunette. This little miracle worker contains a brush, powder and a pencil. For this look I first used the brush to get the right shape. With the pencil I drew the outline and roughly filled in the brows. Lastly I touched up any patches with the powder.
Before I talked about how good Lily Lolo is for your skin and now I want to dedicate a moment to the packaging. As you’re well aware I think presentation is nearly as important as content. I absolutely love Lily Lolo’s minimalistic design. It’s classy, beautiful and looks wonderful on your vanity. I got to try the Miami Taupe Mineral Eye Shadow which as you can see is perfect for a natural makeup look. It goes on really well and doesn’t crease at all. I also really like that it’s got a slight shimmer to it because who doesn’t like a little glitz! To add some more shine to that highlight I applied a generous amount of the Star Dust Mineral Shimmer to the bridge of my nose, cupid’s bow and cheek bones. I’d say this highlighter is a medium in glitter strength so it’s perfect for a natural looking glow. Lastly I applied the Romantic Rose Natural Lipstick. The formula is super creamy and goes on smoothly. It’s hydrating and leaves the lips plump and totally kissable! 🙂 My all-time favourite mascara is Estée Lauder’s Sumptuous Knockout Defining Lift and Fan Mascara. This mascara has never made my lashes clumpy. The formula is absolutely amazing as is the wand. It doesn’t give you those XXL lashes but in everyday life I prefer a more subtle look. It nicely lifts the lashes and gives them some more length. Do you prefer a more natural or dramatic makeup for everyday life?
