Nars Foundation and Concealer Review

If you’ve been keeping up to date with my last few posts then you know that I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect foundation for me. I tested four different brands in my Foundation Comparison post and also the Bobbi Brown one which I talked about on Instagram. There were many I was happy with but I did notice after a while that most unfortunately dry darker. This is a known issue with foundations and can be avoided by choosing a slightly too pale shade. The problem for me however is that I have a hard time finding a foundation light enough for my skin tone as it is let alone a shade lighter! I haven’t given up however and today I will try the new Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and the Radiant Creamy Concealer. Before I dive into my review I’d like to quickly tell you what these two products are all about.
The Radiant Creamy Concealer which is available in 22 different shades is an award-winning multi-action concealer as it contours, highlights, corrects and perfects. The texture is creamy and has a medium-to-buildable coverage. It also hydrates the skin and is enriched with light diffusing technology to create a softer and smoother complexion.
The new Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation comes in 33 skin matching shades and has medium-to-full buildable coverage. It’s supposed to last for 16 hours without fading and should create a fresh and vibrant look which stays all day long. This is achieved with their patent pending technology which creates a weightless texture. The foundation also contains a skin optimising complex which is made up of raspberry, apple and watermelon extracts to smooth and improve the skin’s texture. Now let’s talk about what I thought of the Concealer which I got in the shade Chantilly. It is the lightest shade available which unfortunately was a little on the yellow side for my tone but combined with the foundation it was a good match. What it definitely has going for itself is its coverage. I only needed one light layer and it completely covered my under eye circles and impurities. The texture is very creamy and feels great. I have to say though that you shouldn’t wait too long with blending it in as it dries quite quickly. Apart from the color being a tad off this has got to be one of the best concealers I’ve tried so far! With the shade of the foundation I was a little sceptical at first as well. The shade is called Oslo and it is described as fair with pink undertones. As it was the only fair shade I decided to go with it. On my hand it looked a little too pink but when I applied it to my face it was absolutely perfect. You can imagine how happy I was to have finally found a foundation which is my perfect match! It was even slightly too pale and then dried a little darker to the perfect color. Besides being my exact shade it also has great coverage. On a good skin day I don’t even need a concealer with this foundation. It also feels very hydrating which meant I didn’t even feel the need to apply some hydrating fixing spray afterwards. I’m so astounded at how happy I am with these two Nars products and I can only recommend you give them both a try. The new foundation will be available in February 2018.

Have you found your perfect foundation?

Love,
