After having already had the pleasure of showing you Kiko Milano’s Less Is Better, Asian Touch and Candy Split capsule collections I am delighted to introduce you to the newest addition Into the Dark by au jour le jour. Into the Dark is the seventh and final limited edition capsule collection. The collections were created with Vogue Italia in celebration of Kiko Milano’s 20th anniversary. This capsule collection was designed with the founders Mirko Fontana and Diego Marquez of the brand au jour le jour. This fashion brand is famous for its use of wallpaper motifs, animal prints and exclusive materials. For Into the Dark they have chosen an elegant, sensual, feminine and provocative style. The makeup products are made to create an extreme and intense look with glowing and highly pigmented colors as well as cold nuances and metallic effects. As in each capsule collection Kiko has included a stunning makeup bag. The Into the Dark Design Pochette has a vinyl effect with a floral design which is the main theme of the collection. Another handy accessory is the Mirror which includes a normal glass and a 2x magnifying glass. I have to admit though that I find it a shame that Kiko didn’t decorate the Mirror in the same floral design and instead just left it in a plain black. One of my favourites from the collection is the Purifying Black Peel-Off Mask which should help minimise the appearance of pores and remove impurities as well as sebum. It works with astringent and purifying charcoal powder and montmorillonite black clay. The Shimmering Face Powder in the shade 01 Uncontrolled Light is an illuminating face powder for your face, neck and décolletage. It is a combination of three shades of iridescent powder basically making it a 3 in 1 highlighter, blush and bronzer. I’m all for minimising but because I’m too pale for bronzer this powder is unfortunately a little dark for me. It is however super easy to apply and blend and looks gorgeous with its bright, radiant and shimmering metallic finish. To apply the powder you can use the Into the Dark Face Brush which is a multipurpose brush for face powders with synthetic fibres. These two high-definition line and full shade Eye Pencils for the inner and outer eye are available in four shades. The two above are 02 Liberal Burgundy and 04 Vinyl Black. The texture is very soft and goes on easily. You can blend the shades to intensely and evenly outline the eye contour. As you can see further down in the look I created I used the black eyeliner on the top and the burgundy shade on the bottom.Because I’m wearing lash extensions from the Lash Bar I couldn’t give the Mascara a try. Here’s what Kiko says about it. The mascara promises to be extreme volume and curl-enhancing. The texture is described as incredibly creamy and flexible resulting in the lashes being light, shiny, soft and thicker without being weighed down. The applicator with its fibre brush should precisely define the lashes and by going right to the base of the lashes is supposed to enhance the volume. The only shade available is this intense black color. As you know my thing is liquid lipsticks. The Metallic Lip Colour which comes in four shades and which you can see above in the colours 01 Capture Platinum Rose and 02 Desirable Burgundy sadly disappointed me a little. The colour and metallic finish themselves are absolutely perfect but unfortunately they feel very wet. I can only describe it as feeling like water. They also felt sort of uncomfortable and I couldn’t imagine wearing them for a whole evening. Maybe it is just me because Kiko describes the texture as innovativ and lightweight. Please let me know what you thought of the liquid lipsticks in the comment section below if you’ve tried them. Here you see me wearing the lipstick 01 Capture Platinum Rose as well as the Eye Pencils and Shimmering Face Powder.
In this image I switched to the 02 Desirable Burgundy lipstick shade. The perfectly matching jewellery set I got from The Sparkle. This Into the Dark Nail Lacquer is a fantastic shade for advent and Christmas which are both just around the corner. I’ve always been a fan of Kiko Milano’s Nail Polishes as they have great pigmentation, dry quickly and last a long time without chipping. These last accessories in this capsule collection are the Nail Art Stickers and Tape. They are quick and easy to use and give your manicure an original touch. I especially love the cute Nail Art Stickers!
