For weeks now the shops have been stocked with various Christmas items. Personally I find it utterly ridiculous that basically as soon as Easter is over they start unpacking the Christmas boxes. What puzzles me even more is that I can’t imagine who might want to buy for example an advent’s calendar three months before the 1st December. Since time has now already progressed to November I feel that I can slowly also start posting about the joys of Christmas.
I am a huge fan of Christmas and all its kitsch but there is one thing that gives me a headache each year. What do I get my loved ones as presents? As I am sure that I am not the only one facing this annual struggle I will present over the course of the next few weeks various present ideas.
Today I will showcase the Caudalie “Thé des Vignes” Set.
First of all I would like to say a few words about the packaging. I absolutely adore the box as it is covered in silver grape vines which gives it a festive touch. The cardboard is good quality and even has a little magnet in the flap so the box can be closed properly and easily.
Let’s go on to the content. The perfume and hand cream bottles are great sizes. Neither too big nor tiny and they fit wonderfully into a handbag for on the way. This is rather important, as the scent doesn’t linger too long. More on that subject later. The design of the fragrance bottle is cute as well since on the back of the bottle is a little grape vine, which shines through the semi see through glass.
The scent itself is divine. It consists of orange blossom and jasmine tea in the top notes, ginger, grapes and neroli shape the heart and the base underlines it all with white musk and blonde trees. I am very impressed by how the floral and tea notes are held together by the smooth and dark yet unoppressive musk and how every now and then a sparkling zingy hint of the ginger shimmers through. The musk also gives it a woodsy, sensual and rich grounding.
Definitely love at first sniff.
Thé des Vignes is a perfume that lingers closely to the skin which makes it ideal for an office surrounding. Sadly it doesn’t have great longevity and you’ll need to spritz again after a few hours.
The set also includes a shower gel and a hand and nail cream. I found the shower gel a bit small. Apart from that though it is great, as I love to match my shower gel and perfume so that they won’t clash. The hand cream is a good size for your handbag. The texture is very smooth and sinks in fairly quickly. I find this important especially when in an office environment where you are constantly handling documents.
