Slowly but surely Autumn has rolled in and engulfed us with its thick fog. I have to admit though that this time of the year is my favourite as I love nothing more than to snuggle up in front of a blazing fire with a hot cup of tea, a good book or magazine, surrounded by deliciously scented candles. As I am currently cuddled up in a warm rug on my sofa with my fluffy winter socks on smelling the amazing Yankee Candles and Lalique Chili Candle scents I want to share with you their perfect autumn products.
Perfect for those rare but still existing romantic sunsets Yankee Candle has a candle called Sunset Breeze. This fragrance lets you be reminiscent of those evening strolls a couple months ago on the beach, with scents of tropical fruits moving in the breeze, back and forth just like the surf. The top notes are pineapple, peach and mango. The mid notes are pear and blossom and the base consists of musk. In the image below you can see that I got the little Sunset Breeze wax melt as well because it’s so heavenly!
Above you can see the small jar of Passion Fruit Martini and in the first photo the sampler size as well. With this scent you can sit back, relax and savour a tropical mix of passion fruit, mango and zesty orange. It’s like a long sip of a true beachside cocktail. Here the top notes are juicy pineapple, tropical mango and zesty orange with a mid note of passion fruit and the typical musk base.
From Flowers In The Sun I got the sampler size and the wax melt. This scent reminds me of those long walks in the garden with sunlight spilling over all the golden colors – like a remarkably bright scent of sweet blossoms. The top notes are lemon and orange. The mid consists of apple blossoms, pink water lilies with the sweet airy musk base.
Lastly the somewhat darker scent is called Dreamy Summer Nights. This wax melt is a relaxing blend of vanilla bean, heliotrope and a hint of woodiness. It spreads the subtle magic of a warm night in soft bloom which is absolutely perfect for those warm and cuddly nights in front of the fire. Here we have a vanilla sugar top note, heliotrope and vanilla orchid mid note and vanilla bean, amber and cedar wood base.
Only very recently did I discover the magical world of Lalique. Besides homeware, jewellery and perfumes Lalique also has an amazing line of scented candles. Lalique has an inspiring concept called Voyage de Parfumeur (Journey of the perfumer) where you can discover the world through all the different scented candles that are all inspired by a different part of the world.
I got to try the Chili, La Paz – Bolivia candle which is absolutely breathtaking! Before I talk about the scent though a few words about the inspiration of this fragrance. The mysterious Bolivia… Part of the Ancient Incas Empire, it is believed to be a chili pepper motherland. This hot fruit inspired Incas myths and folktales. Revered as a deity, Ayar-Uchu, or “Brother Chili Pepper”, was one of the four brothers emerged at the inception of the Incas world.
While the perfumer is traveling through the endless wild landscape of Bolivia in pursuit of the sweet pungency of chili, he also senses tenderly smoky cedar wood notes surrounded by an intriguingly gentle accord of mineral paprika. For this reason he chooses bergamot and paprika as the top notes, chili pepper, saffron and cedar wood as the heart notes and vanilla, mineral accord and musks for the base notes.
As I mentioned above Lalique also designs delicate homeware and I picked up this Anemone Sculpture made out of light purple crystal which would definitely make a great Christmas present for those of you who are in desperate need of ideas for presents. 🙂
